Felix Abeyta Dead in Pueblo County Motorcycle Crash on 25 Freeway

 
PUEBLO COUNTY, CO (April 30, 2024) — Felix Aaron Abeyta died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 14.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the motorcycle crash took place on the 25 Freeway near the El Paso/Pueblo County line at about 12:30 p.m.
 
CSP said a motorcycle driven by Abeyta and a Dodge Ram 1500 towing a trailer traveled southbound in the right lane of the 25 Freeway. After that, the motorcycle approached the truck at a high rate of speed and the motorcycle lost control.
 
The impact of the crash ejected Abeyta from the motorcycle. Then the motorcycle continued rolling in the lane and then hit the back of the trailer. On impact, the trailer disconnected from the truck. It slammed the back of the truck and rolled over onto its top before it came to rest in the left lane.
 
The truck was able to stop safely on the right shoulder of the freeway. Meanwhile, the motorcycle came to rest in the right lane.
 
Paramedics brought Abeyta to the hospital, where medical personnel pronounced him dead.
 
CSP said impairment was not a factor in the crash. However, they consider speed as a factor.
