Felipe Uriostegui Identified in Fatal Toppenish Car Accident on Highway 97

 
TOPPENISH, WA (July 20, 2023) – Officers identified 34-year-old Felipe Uriostegui who died in a rollover crash on Highway 97 on July 15.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened at 3:47 a.m. on Highway 97 approximately 2 miles north of Toppenish.
 
Uriostegui and 70-year-old Jerry J. Levasseur of Goldendale were both northbound on U.S. 97 in separate vehicles. Then, Uriostegui’s Toyota Corolla struck Levasseur’s Chevy Silverado, according to authorities.
 
Uriostegui’s car left the roadway, rolled and came to rest on its wheels. As a result, Uriostegui suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
 
Levasseur did not sustain any injuries. Both men wore seat belts, the release said.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
