Felipe Ramirez Dies, One Suffers Injuries After Off-Roading Crash in Mendocino County

 
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (July 12, 2023) — Felipe Ramirez died while another person sustained injuries after an off-roading crash at South Cow Mountain OHV Recreation Area on Saturday morning, July 1.

The fatal incident involving a Jeep Wrangler occurred west of Panther Ridge Road, according to the California Highway Patrol which responded to the scene at around 7:18 a.m.

Authorities said that the Jeep, driven by 26-year-old Ramirez of Rohnert Park who had four passengers, drifted off the road. The Jeep overturned several times and caused the ejection of its occupants. As a result, the vehicle rolled over Ramirez in the process.

The accident left Ramirez dead at the scene.

One of the passengers ended up with minor injuries while the rest emerged from the crash unharmed.

The cause and circumstances behind the collision remain under investigation.
