One Killed in Garbage Truck Accident on 11th Avenue in Aurora

 
AURORA, CO (August 2, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department confirmed that one person died in a garbage truck accident on 11th Avenue on July 18.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened at Picadilly Street around 7:30 AM. Based on a report, the crash involved a Ford F150, a Kenworth dump truck and another car.
 
The Ford was driving eastbound on 11th Avenue when the driver tried to turn left onto Picadilly Street. Subsequently, it collided with the dump truck. The dump truck then went into the northbound lanes, crashing into the third vehicle.
 
As a result, the driver of the third vehicle died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
The APD’s Traffic Investigation Unit is asking anyone with information or dashboard camera footage to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
