81-Year-Old Woman Killed, Fahid Amin Arrested in Las Vegas Crash

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 20, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 35-year-old Fahid Amin of Las Vegas after a fatal crash on Charleston Boulevard on November 12.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Merialdo Lane around 1:55 PM. Based on a report, Amin was driving an Acura TLX traveling west on Charleston Boulevard at high speed prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Toyota Corolla traveling east on Charleston Boulevard. Due to unknown reasons, the Toyota turned in front of the Acura and caused a crash.
 
As a result, a passenger in the Toyota, an 81-year-old woman, died at the scene. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver of the Toyota, an 80-year-old man, had moderate injuries.
 
Police said Amin showed signs of impairment and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
