Ernest Uballe Killed in Pedestrian Accident in Lubbock

 
LUBBOCK, TX (February 5, 2025) — A 44-year-old man, Ernest Uballe, died in pedestrian accident on Saturday, February 1.
 
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the incident happened on the 1100 block of 50th Street on Saturday night.
 
Lubbock Police said 46-year-old Eric Wells drove a passenger car westbound on 50th Street. As he approached the 1200 block, he struck Uballe, who was crossing the street from the north to the south.
 
Emergency responders arrived at 8:47 p.m. and then transported Uballe to University Medical Center with serious injuries. However, despite receiving medical care, he succumbed to his injuries at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday.
 
There are no reports of whether speed or impairment contributed to the accident.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
