Erik Esquivel and Geri Russell Killed in Crash on 20 Freeway at Hulen Street [Fort Worth, TX]

Geri Lynn Russell, Erik Esquivel Identified in Fatal Fort Worth Crash

FORT WORTH, TX (October 17, 2023) – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified 27-year-old Erik Esquivel and 62-year-old Geri Lynn Russell who died in a crash on 20 Freeway on October 9.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Hulen Street shortly before 3:00 AM. Based on a report, a vehicle traveling westbound on the eastbound side of the road prior to the crash.

Subsequently, the vehicle struck an SUV.

As a result, both drivers, Esquivel and Russell, sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle that was going the wrong way was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital.

Police have not yet identified which driver was in the vehicle that was going the wrong way.
