Erica Blair and Glenn Ottens Die after Head-On Accident in Hartley County

 
HARTLEY COUNTY, TX (August 12, 2024) — Two people, Erica Blair and Glenn Ottens, died in a head-on accident on Wednesday, July 31.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on Highway 385, six miles south of Hartley.
 
Texas DPS said 44-year-old Erica Blair, of Dallas, drove a 2014 Honda Civic north of Highway 385. Then she veered into oncoming traffic and her vehicle crashed head-on into a pickup.
 
Emergency responders arrived at the area and then pronounced Blair dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the 2015 Dodge Ram also died in the crash. Authorities identified him as 66-year-old Glenn Ottens, of Keller, Texas.
 
Meanwhile, a passenger in the pickup identified as 53-year-old Rhonda Sudduth, of Lagrange, Kentucky, suffered major injuries. Paramedics transported her to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo where she is listed in critical condition.
 
All of the occupants wore seat belts at the time of the accident.
 
The Texas Highway Patrol Troopers handle the ongoing investigation of the crash.
