Eric Eitel Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 155 in Winona

 
WINONA, TX (September 29, 2022) – Police identified Eric C. Eitel as the victim who died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 155 on September 24.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 2:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it crossed the center line and collided head on with a Nissan 370Z that was traveling north that time.
 
The driver of the Nissan, 53-year-old Eitel of Big Sandy died an the scene.
 
The Chevrolet driver, 21-year-old Darrell T. Lewis of Tyler, suffered incapacitating injuries and was transported to Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
 
As of now, an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. In addition, there are no other details available.
