RENO, NV (February 16, 2025) — 38-year-old Eric Burns, of Carson City, died in a fire truck accident on Friday, February 7.

According to the Nevada State Police, the crash occurred on the Galena Bridge along 580 Freeway near mile marker 20.

Nevada State Police said Burns drove a 2017 Subaru WRX northbound on 580 Freeway. Then his vehicle lost control. After that he struck the rear corner of a Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue fire engine that blocked a lane due to an earlier accident.
