Eric Allen and Indalecio Lara Killed, Three Others Injured after Phoenix Head-On Crash

 
PHOENIX, AZ (July 26, 2024) — Two men, 37-year-old Eric Allen and 51-year-old Indalecio Lara, died in a crash on Wednesday, July 10
 
According to Phoenix police, the fatal head-on accident on McDowell Road and 57th Avenue at about 10:30 a.m.
 
Phoenix police said Allen drove west in a red Honda Fit on McDowell Road. Then he went into oncoming traffic. After that, he crashed into a black taxicab driven by Lara as he approached 57th Avenue.
 
Reports said paramedics brought Allen and Indalecio to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries and died.
 
Phoenix Police Sgt. Phil Krynsky said the two men and a woman inside the Honda were hurt. The woman sustained serious injuries and continues to fight for her life.
 
The taxicab sustained noticeable damage to its front end. In addition, there was also debris scattered along the road.
 
Officials closed McDowell Road for several hours. They reopened it at about 3:00 p.m.
 
It is unclear whether speed or impairment contributed as factors.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
