Elia Orlando Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Rankin Road in Houston, Husband Anthony Orlando Injured

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 12, 2022) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office identified Elia Orlando as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident in the 530 block of Rankin Road on December 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 11:45 PM. Based on a report, the victim was walking west with her husband, Anthony Orlando, with their two children along the shoulder in the grassy area prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, she stepped onto the road, yelling at a speeding vehicle that had passed. At that time, a Porsche Cayenne SUV traveling westbound struck her.
 
As a result, Elia suffered serious injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to HCA Houston Northwest Hospital, where she later died.
 
Crews also transported Anthony to the same hospital for treatment of his left arm that was hit by the passenger side mirror. Investigators said Anthony pushed their children out of the way and none of them were hurt.
 
The driver of the Porsche stayed at the scene and did not show signs of intoxication.
