Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Street-Racing Suspect Duglas Esteban-Chacon on Nellis Boulevard in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 26, 2025) – Las Vegas police arrested 25-year-old Duglas Esteban-Chacon following a pedestrian accident on Nellis Boulevard on February 20.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at Lake Mead Boulevard shortly before 11:00 PM. Based on a report, Esteban-Chacon was driving a Honda sedan northbound on Nellis Boulevard at the time of the crash.
 
According to a release, Esteban-Chacon was street-racing with an unknown white vehicle. Subsequently, he hit a man. The impact projected the victim forward and onto the roadway.
 
The collision resulted in the dismemberment of the man’s legs. The victim later died due to his injuries. Authorities did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Police arrested and held Esteban-Chacon at the Clark County Detention Center on charges of reckless driving resulting in death or bodily harm and displaying bogus vehicle registration.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
