Three Children, One Adult Hospitalized after Pickup Truck Accident near 51st Avenue and Butler Drive

 
GLENDALE, AZ (October 10, 2024) — Four people sustained injuries in a pickup truck accident near 51st Avenue on Thursday, October 3.
 
According to the Glendale Police, the accident happened at about 8:00 a.m. near 51st Avenue and Butler Drive, north of Northern Avenue.
 
Glendale Police Sgt. Moroni Mendez said the pickup truck driver with three children inside the vehicle traveled northbound. Then another truck driver tried to make a left turn onto Butler Drive.
 
The two vehicles crashed, and the impact caused the pickup driver to lose control. Then the vehicle went over a curb, a sidewalk, and utility pedestals. After that, the pickup collided with the corner of the American Child Care Center.
 
The 32-year-old driver of the pickup and the children inside the vehicle, ages 5, 8, and 10, suffered minor injuries. Paramedics responded and then brought all of them to the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the second driver, a 79-year-old man, was not hurt in the accident.
 
Sgt. Mendez said there were 15 children and five adults inside the daycare. None of them sustained injuries and they all evacuated the building following the incident.
