One Fatally Injured in Truck Accident on 15 Freeway

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (December 23, 2024) — One person died in a truck accident on the 15 Freeway on Tuesday, December 10.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the incident involving a commercial delivery box truck and a semi-truck occurred at about 11:00 a.m. on 15 Freeway near Russell Road.
 
NSP said the initial investigation determined that a commercial semi-truck drove north in the middle lane of the 15 Freeway. Then the driver started to slow down to traffic ahead. After that, the driver of a commercial box truck failed to slow down. It struck the back of the semi-truck.
 
Officers later confirmed that the driver of the box truck died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not yet available, pending next-of-kin notification.
 
Authorities closed the northbound lanes of 15 Freeway near Russell Road. They advised motorists to expect delays and find alternate routes. The lanes reopened at about 7:20 p.m., over eight hours later.
