LASSEN COUNTY, CA (December 13, 2022) – A semi-truck driver was killed after crashing into a train on Highway 44 on Tuesday, December 6.

According to California Highway Patrol, they received reports of a fatal crash at approximately 3:45 p.m. However, the factors that affected the accident are still unknown.

Highway 44 was unavailable from Highway 36 to Highway 89. Authorities are working on the cleanup as the semi-truck is blocking the road.

At this point, officers will conduct further investigation. This is a developing story.
