HUERFANO COUNTY, CO (February 20, 2025) – Authorities confirmed that a driver died in a semi-truck accident on 25 Freeway on February 12.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened about five miles north of Walsenburg shortly before 5:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a semi-truck when he rear-ended a Colorado Department of Transportation snowplow.
 
As a result, the semi-truck driver suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Emergency crews transported the driver of the snowplow to the hospital.
 
Authorities ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Colorado State Patrol Dispatch at 719-544-2424.
