PHOENIX, AZ (March 12, 2024) — A person identified as Dolly Burton suffered injuries after a DUI driver crashed into her home on March 1.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the crash happened at night. They said 31-year-old Manuel Laynez Asicona allegedly drove while under the influence of alcohol with a 3-year-old child who was not secured to a car seat. Then his vehicle crashed into Butron’s home in the area of Cave Creek Road and Greenway Road.
91-year-old Burton was on a couch when the crash happened. Laynez’s truck allegedly crashed through the home’s living room. Burton’s family members said she suffered several wounds. An ambulance brought her to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities placed him under arrest for alleged DUI after a field sobriety test.
