DJ Hayden, Zach McMillan, Ralph Oragwu, and Three Others Killed in Car Crash on Fanmin Street [Houston, TX]

DJ Hayden, Zach McMillan, and Ralph Oragwu Among Six Killed in Houston Car Accident

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 5, 2023) — Six people including former NFL player DJ Hayden died in a crash on Saturday, November 11.
 
According to Houston police, the incident happened at in the 2000 block of Fannin Street at Pierce Street at about 2:00 a.m.
 
Police said a black Acura SUV moved eastbound on Pierce with a green light. Then a Chrysler 300 traveled southbound at a high rate of speed on Fannin Street. After that, it ran a red light and crashed into an SUV driven by Lauren Robinson-Holliday.
 
Officers identified the at-fault driver as Christian Herrera.
 
The impact of the crash ejected the people into both vehicles. In addition, the Chrysler also hit and killed a man on the sidewalk. Police believe he was homeless.
 
Paramedics pronounced four people dead at the scene. Two others later died in a hospital.
 
The University of Houston later confirmed that former University of Houston football players Hayden, Zach McMillan, and Ralph Oragwu were among those killed in the incident.
 
Family members confirmed another one of the fatal victims was Robinson-Holliday.
 
Officers also identified a homeless man who was killed in the crash. According to authorities, Herrera’s car crashed into Frank Robinson, who was at the underpass.
 
Authorities said the two people remain hospitalized. One of them is a female with life-threatening injuries. The other is a male who was interviewed by the police.
