BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 17, 2023) – The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified 24-year-old Diego Samaniego of Bakersfield as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on South H Street on March 31.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just south of Hosking Avenue around 3:15 AM.
 
Based on a report, a vehicle struck the victim. Officers said it was not clear why Samaniego was on the road at that time.
 
As a result, Samaniego suffered severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
As of now, the coroner’s report said the Bakersfield Police Department is investigating. In addition, no other details have been released about the incident.
