Devin Kilcoin Identified in Fatal Garbage Truck Crash on Alvernon Way in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (October 2, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department identified 28-year-old Devin James Kilcoin who died in a crash on Alvernon Way on September 26.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Los Reales Road. Based on a report, Kilcoin was the passenger of a garbage truck that was heading north on south Alvernon Way.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the truck began to head toward the shoulder before ultimately flipping over. Then, the GMC started to swerve back and forth before flipping over and rolling northbound.
 
As a result, Kilcoin sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Emergency crews transported the driver of the garbage truck to the hospital for treatment.
 
Detectives evaluated the driver at the hospital and determined there was no impairment at the time of the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
