School Bus Driver Dennis Pacheco Cited, Four Students Injured in Alamosa Accident

 
ALAMOSA, CO (December 11, 2024) – The Alamosa Police Department cited 69-year-old Dennis Pacheco following a school bus accident on West Avenue on November 21.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at 8th Street around 7:39 AM. Based on a report, Pacheco was driving an Alamosa Elementary School bus with 14 students near the intersection.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to yield the right of way when he turned in front of a Ford Edge. The action caused a crash.
 
As a result, four students were hurt in the incident. Emergency crews treated them and the driver of the Ford Edge for minor injuries.
 
Pacheco was cited for careless driving causing injury.
