PHOENIX, AZ (August 6, 2024) — Authorities arrested 48-year-old David Pearce after a DUI accident on Friday, July 19.
 
According to Phoenix police, officers responded to the area of 7th Street and Coral Gables Drive at around 9:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a drunk driver. The driver was allegedly in multiple accidents and caused damage to other vehicles.
 
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Pearce, reportedly exchanged gunfire with an unknown person. Then he left the neighborhood. After that, a nearby business reported that Pearce shot their business.
 
Police found Pearce because he and his vehicle fit the description of the DUI driver and his suspect car. They said his vehicle had severe damage and was unable to be used.
 
The officers gave commands to Pearce. However, he refused to comply. Then, Special Assignments Unit officers arrived and used tactical approach, and they eventually arrested Pearce.
 
Pearce faces multiple charges. Some of the charges are driving under the influence, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm at a non-residential structure, and resisting arrest.
