David Contreras Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Farm-to-Market 1208 [Martin County, TX]

David Contreras Identified in Fatal Car Accident in Martin County

 
MARTIN COUNTY, TX (August 30, 2023) – Officers identified 22-year-old David Contreras of Midland who died in a semi-truck accident on FM 1208 on August 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just three miles east of Midland. Based on a report, Contreras, was driving a 2019 GMC 3500 northbound on FM 1208 prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 35-year-old Genuel Jayesky Becerra-Abreu was driving a 2002 Kenworth truck with a trailer on the same direction. Due to unknown reasons, Becerra-Abreu failed to yield the right of way to Contreras and made a right-hand turn into a private drive. Contreras then hit his truck.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Becerra-Abreu was not hurt in the crash.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
