David Brlej Dead in Hit-and-Run in Arvada Parking Lot

 
ARVADA, CO (September 24, 2024) — A 67-year-old man identified as David Brlej died in a hit-and-run on Friday, September 6.
 
According to the Arvada Police, the accident occurred at around 6:03 a.m. in the ABC Car Wash parking lot at 14835 West 64th Avenue.
 
Investigators determined that Brlej drove a gray Lexus SUV.  Then he apparently got into an altercation with the driver of a brown Ford Focus on West 72nd Avenue and Indiana Street.
 
Then the drivers continued to the car wash. After that, Brlej got out of his car. Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford remained in his vehicle. After that, the driver of the Ford left the parking lot and hit Brlej.
 
Officers responded and found Brlej lying on the ground with critical injuries. Paramedics then brought him to the hospital where he died.
 
Police said they have identified the Ford driver and the investigation is still underway. The 1st Judicial District Attorney’s Office will make the final determination on the possibility of filing of any charges.
