HOUSTON, TX (July 11, 2024) — A 27-year-old man identified as Darrell Thomas Jones died in a hit-and-run on Saturday, June 22.
 
According to the Harris County deputies, the traffic crash took place at the 10200 block of Highway 99 at around 1:22 a.m.
 
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a pedestrian in the roadway with no signs of life. They identified him as Darrell Thomas Jones.
 
Authorities said he walked from north to south and failed to stop the right of way to vehicles on the roadway.
 
Investigators have not yet determined who struck Jones. However, they discovered parts from the suspect car in the area.
