Daniel Barcelo Dies after Four-Vehicle Accident in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (April 11, 2024) — A 27-year-old man identified as Daniel Barcelo died in a four-vehicle crash on Friday, April 5.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the four-vehicle accident took place near the intersection of 52nd Avenue and Van Buren Street at about 8:30 p.m.
 
Police said Barcelo drove a vehicle westbound on Van Buren Street near 52nd Avenue. Then it crossed into oncoming traffic. After that, it struck three other vehicles moving eastbound on Van Buren Street.
 
When they arrived, they discovered two male drivers with serious injuries. One of them was Barcelo, who they transported to a nearby hospital. Medical personnel pronounced him dead there.
 
Emergency responders also rushed the other injured driver to a nearby hospital. As of Saturday morning, he was in critical condition.
 
The drivers of the other two cars involved in the incident were not hurt.
 
An investigation into the fatal accident is underway.
