Cyclist Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (March 6, 2023) – The Austin-Travis County EMS confirmed that a cyclist died in a hit-and-run accident in the 9500 block of North Lamar Boulevard on February 27.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Rutland Drive at approximately 8:20 PM. Based on a report, the cyclist was crossing at the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, an unidentified vehicle struck him. Subsequently, the driver left the scene without helping the victim or calling 911.
 
As a result, the paramedics pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending next of kin notification.
 
Officers believed the vehicle involved was a white colored sedan that may have recent damage due to the collision.
 
As of now, officials continue to investigate the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
