Craig Jennings and Meranda Griffin Identified in Fatal Navarro County Crash on Highway 31
NAVARRO COUNTY, TX (November 9, 2023) – Officials identified 48-year-old Craig Elton Jennings and 28-year-old Meranda Nichole Griffin, both of Athens, who died in a car crash on Highway 31 on October 23.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just east of Powell at approximately 1:00 AM. Based on a report, Jennings was driving an SUV with Griffin east on the highway at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to drive in a single lane. Subsequently, he drove off the south side of the roadway and hit a tree. The SUV then caught fire.
As a result, Jennings and Griffin suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
