Cody Ellis Dies after Houston Car Accident on Sam Houston Parkway

 
HOUSTON, TX (September 20, 2022) – Police identified Cody Ellis as the victim who died in a red-light accident in the 8800 block of East Sam Houston Parkway on September 17.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 2:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, a white Lexus was heading southbound in the No. 2 lane of the road at the time of the crash. At that time, Ellis’ gold Toyota came in front of it. Officers said Ellis ran a red light while trying to travel eastbound under the freeway.
 
Subsequently, the Lexus struck the driver’s side door of the Toyota.
 
As a result, Ellis and the other driver suffered injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported them to the hospital, where Ellis died from his injuries.
 
There were no immediate signs of intoxication, but an investigation remains underway by HCSO’s Vehicular Crime Division. As of now, no other details are available.
