Claudia Castillo Killed, Jimmy Setchfield Injured in Car Crash on Highway 190 [Schleicher County, TX]

Claudia Castillo Identified in Fatal Head-On Crash in Schleicher County

 
SCHLEICHER COUNTY, TX (September 26, 2023) – Officials identified 38-year-old Claudia Guadalupe Castillo of Brownwood who died in a crash on Highway 190 on September 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened approximately 9.5 miles east of Eldorado around 10:15 PM. Based on a report, Castillo was driving her Chevrolet Silverado westbound on the highway when she collided head-on with a Dodge 1500 traveling eastbound.
 
Police said Castillo was attempting to use a no-pass zone to pass a towing trailer also traveling westbound.
 
As a result, Castillo sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The driver of the Dodge, 66-year-old Jimmy Lee Setchfield of Christoval, suffered incapacitating injuries. Crews transported him to Shannon Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the towing trailer was uninjured.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
