Cindy Powell-Perez Arrested, Police Officer Struck after Tucson DUI Crash

 
TUCSON, AZ (July 31, 2024) — Officers arrested 26-year-old Tucson resident Cindy Powell-Perez after a DUI accident on Saturday, June 1.
 
According to the Tucson Police Department, the incident took place in the 500 block of East Navajo Road.
 
TPD said someone noticed Powell-Perez slumped over in her vehicle. Then an officer tried to talk to her. However, she allegedly backed out and crashed into the officer’s vehicle.
 
After that, she allegedly tried to leave the scene. However, she still ended up colliding with a parked vehicle near Dodge Boulevard and Speedway Boulevard.
 
Officers said they discovered a large bag in her vehicle. The bag contains more than 4,400 fentanyl pills, nearly $20,000 in cash, a pound of meth, and ammunition.
 
Authorities arrested Powell-Perez on several felony drug and DUI charges.
