Christopher Yarmie Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Denton
DENTON, TX (October 17, 2023) – The Denton Police Department identified 60-year-old Christopher Yarmie who died in a hit-and-run on 35 Freeway on September 24.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at West University Drive at approximately 10:19 PM. Based on a report, Yarmie was at the freeway’s service road at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, a dark-colored Peterbilt truck cab with a livestock trailer hit him. The driver then fled the scene afterward.
As a result, Yarmie suffered serious injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to a local hospital, where he later died.
Denton Police said the tractor-trailer was last seen after the crash traveling on West University Drive.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
