Christopher Rhinehart Fatally Struck in Phoenix Hit-and-Run near 23rd Avenue and Northern Avenue

 
PHOENIX, AZ (October 23, 2024) — A 38-year-old man identified as Christopher Rhinehart died in a hit-and-run on Saturday, October 12.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident occurred at about 1:50 a.m. near 23rd Avenue and Northern Avenue.
 
A police report said Rhinehart was walking and rolling around in the roadway. Then a passing vehicle struck him.
 
Police said the vehicle struck him and drove away following the accident.
 
Paramedics brought Rhinehart to the hospital where he later died. His family members made a GoFundMe to help them with the funeral costs.
 
Investigators later found the suspected driver at his home. However, they opted not to make an arrest after they interviewed him. Police said they will make charging decisions after investigators finish reconstruction of the incident.
 
The crash is still under investigation.
