Christopher Betterson-Bishop Killed after Semi-Truck Accident in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (December 1, 2024) — A man identified as 33-year-old Christopher Betterson-Bishop died in a semi-truck accident on November 11.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred on 51st Avenue and the 10 Freeway overpass at about 10:00 p.m.
Investigators said 33-year-old Christopher Betterson-Bishop blew through the red light. Then he slammed into a semi-truck driver going west on the 10 Freeway access road.
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced Betterson-Bishop dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics also brought his passenger, a woman, to the hospital with serious injuries. They said they expect her to survive.
The truck driver was not hurt. They remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
