Christina Castro, Marcos Castanon Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 87 at FM 1585 [Lubbock, TX]

Marcos Castanon and Christina Castro Identified in Fatal Lubbock Crash

 
LUBBOCK, TX (April 29, 2024) – Officials identified 33-year-old Christina Elaine Castro of Abilene and 23-year-old Marcos Noyola Castanon of Wilson who died in a crash on Highway 87 on April 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1585 around 11:30 PM. Based on a report, Castanon was driving a 2015 Toyota 4-door passenger car south on the southbound side of the highway before the accident.
 
At the same time, Castro was driving a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound in the south travel lanes of the way. Due to Castro’s wrong-way driving, he collided with Castanon’s vehicle.
 
As a result, both drives suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
