Chon Tran Killed, Jorrell Yazzie Arrested in Car Accident on Dobson Road at Ray Road [Chandler, AZ]

Chon Tran Identified in Suspected DUI Crash on Dobson Road at Ray Road in Chandler

 
CHANDLER, AZ (June 6, 2023) – Officials identified 68-year-old Chon Tran who died in a car accident on Dobson Road on May 29.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Ray Road. Based on a report, Tran was driving a Toyota Camry on the road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 29-year-old Jorrell Yazzie of Mesa was driving a vehicle north on Dobson with a Chevrolet Camaro in front of him. Due to unknown reasons, Yazzie rear-ended the Chevy, which then hit Tran’s Camry.
 
As a result, Tran suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The driver of the Camaro remains in the hospital in serious condition.
 
Yazzie suffered minor injuries. Crews took him to the hospital before Chandler police arrested him on charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
