Child Dead after Sugar Land Car Crash on East Riverpark Drive and Grand Parkway
SUGAR LAND, TX (November 7, 2023) — A child died and four others were hurt in a car accident on East Riverpark Drive on Sunday, October 22.
According to Doug Adolph, Public Information Officer for the city of Sugar Land, the accident occurred near the intersection of East Riverpark Drive and Grand Parkway at 4:16 p.m.
Adolph said the accident involved two vehicles and seven people. Paramedics airlifted two children between the ages of 10 to 14 to a hospital in critical condition. One of them succumbed to their injuries and died.
Emergency responders also transported three others to the hospital by ambulance. Two others declined medical treatment.
Authorities said there are no signs that impairment was a factor in the crash. However, they said one of the cars possibly ran a stoplight.
Officials continue to investigate the collision.
