Charles Wallace Identified in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident in Fannin County
FANNIN COUNTY, TX (June 19, 2024) – Officials identified 69-year-old Charles Porter Wallace of Bonham who died in a multi-vehicle accident on State Highway 78 on June 4.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened on State Highway 78, near the intersection with FM 1753 at around 3:01 PM. Based on a report, two vehicles were stopped in the highway’s northbound lane at the time of the crash.
They were waiting to turn left when a dump truck rear-ended the second vehicle. The impact knocked it into the southbound lanes, hitting Wallace’s pickup truck.
As a result, Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The other drivers were not hurt in the incident.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
