TUCSON, AZ (December 11, 2023) — A 58-year-old woman identified as Cathaleen Pelayo died in a two-car crash on Saturday, December 2.
 
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on North Soldier Trail near East Tanque Verde Road at about 4:30 p.m.
 
Reports said Pelayo drove south on North Soldier Trail. Then she crashed into another vehicle moving west on East Tanque Verde Road.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Pelayo dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
 
As of writing, there are no criminal charges filed.
