Carlos Valero Killed, Reymundo Valero-Lavanzate Injured in Crash on Highway 20 [Howard County, TX]

Carlos Valero Identified in Fatal Car Crash in Howard County

 
HOWARD COUNTY, TX (October 2, 2023) – Officers identified 20-year-old Carlos Valero who died in a crash on Highway 20 on September 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened just 12 miles west of Big Spring. Based on a report, Valero was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on the highway at an unsafe rate of speed.
 
As he was attempting to take Exit 165, he took faulty evasive action, causing the car to roll over. The force then ejected Valero from the driver’s seat.
 
As a result, Valero suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
His passenger, 24-year-old Reymundo Valero-Lavanzate, sustained injuries. He was treated at the Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
