BEAUMONT, TX (July 1, 2024) — Camille Marti and Loren Icenhower-Stacks died in a fiery DUI accident on Friday, June 14.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at around 1:44 a.m. on Highway 69 near Mile Marker 534, close to the Jefferson County Jail.
 
Texas DPS said a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 51-year-old Salvador Gamez, of Brownsville, traveled south in the northbound lanes of Highway 69. Then it slammed head-on into a Toyota Scion.
 
A Jefferson County Justice of the Peace officer pronounced the two women inside the Toyota Scion dead at the scene. Authorities identified the driver as 20-year-old Camille Marti, of Arkansas, and her passenger as 25-year-old Loren Icenhower-Stacks, 25, of Beaumont.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported Gamez by ambulance to a Southeast Texas hospital. He told police he had drank six 12-ounce beers prior to the crash. He now faces Intoxication Manslaughter charges.
