Woman Seriously Hurt in Granite Bay DUI Accident, Gary Benson Arrested

 
GRANITE BAY, CA (February 28, 2023) – Officers arrested Gary Benson for DUI following an accident on Douglas Boulevard on February 25.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Sierra College Boulevard around 3:50 PM.
 
Based on a report, Benson crashed his Tesla into a Girl Scout cookie stand outside of Walmart. As a result, the car hit a woman and two girls near the stand.
 
As a result, the 76-year-old woman suffered major injuries while two girls had moderate injuries. Emergency crews took all three victims to a nearby hospital.
 
Police arrested Benson on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Officials booked him into the Placer County Jail on felony charges of driving under the influence and causing injuries.
