GAINESVILLE, TX (December 23, 2024) — 74-year-old Brenda Gentle, of Gainesville, died in a pedestrian accident on Monday, December 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred on Highway 82 near County Road 123 a little after 7:00 p.m.
 
Texas troopers said a pickup moved eastbound on Highway 82 near County Road 123. Then it hit Gentle in the roadway.
 
Responding officers pronounced Gentle dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the pickup did not sustain any injuries.
 
Officials have not yet released whether impairment and speed played a role in the incident.
