Bobby Vinyard Killed after Alvord Car Accident on Highway 287

 
ALVORD, TX (February 16, 2024) — A car crash killed 83-year-old Bobby Ray Vinyard of Bowie on Thursday, February 1.
 
According to officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on Highway 287 near County Road 2798 at around 6:25 a.m.
 
DPS reports said a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 moved southbound on Highway 287. Then the driver reportedly lost control on the wet roads near County Road 2789. After that, the vehicle veered off the roadway and overturned.
 
Vinyard , who was a passenger inside the vehicle, died at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported the driver of the vehicle to the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with non-life-threatening injuries. DPS officials identified her as Vinyard’s 57-year-old daughter, Whitney Chantel Housour.
 
DPS reports said both individuals wore their seatbelts.
 
The incident is still under investigation.
