Blade Barker Identified in Fatal Accident Involving Train in Clarendon

 
CLARENDON, TX (November 2, 2023) -The Donley County Sheriff’s Office identified 58-year-old Blade Barker of Clarendon who died in a train accident on Kearney Street on October 18.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 3:00 PM. Based on a report, a train conductor and engineer said two vehicles went around the cross arms traveling north at the Kearney Street crossing.
 
The first car crossed safely but the second car was struck by a westbound BNSF train. Barker was a passenger in the second car. The impact threw him out of the vehicle.
 
As a result, Barker suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the second car and Barker’s brother, 70-year-old Naomi Tolbert of Clarendon, sustained injuries. Crews transported him to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo and later to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
