Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run on 8th Avenue at 24th Street [Greeley, CO]

Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Accident on 8th Avenue in Greeley

 
GREELEY, CO (December 13, 2023) – The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office confirmed that a bicyclist died in a hit-and-run accident on 8th Avenue on December 4.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at 24th Street. Based on a report, the rider was heading westbound in the area of the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, an oncoming Jeep Grand Cherokee hit the victim. The driver then fled the area without aiding or assisting the bicyclist.
 
As a result, the bicyclist sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Officers described the Jeep Grand Cherokee as a black 2017-2021 model with a Colorado license plate. Witnesses did not get the plate number. Greeley police say the vehicle sustained front-end damage from the crash.
