AMARILLO, TX (November 8, 2023) — A man identified as 56-year-old Bernardo Rivera of Cicero, Illinois died in a fiery head-on crash.

According to a Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place on South Loop 335, south of East County Road 58 at around 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, October 26.

A 2023 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer hauling tires moved south on South Loop 335. At the same time, Rivera drove a 1993 Ford Explorer north on SL 335.

The Ford Explorer then went into the southbound lane. After that, it crashed head-on with the truck tractor.
