83-Year-Old Bernard Sneller Identified in Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 385 in Oldham County
OLDHAM COUNTY, TX (July 5, 2023) – Officials identified 83-year-old Bernard Sneller of Amarillo who died in a crash on Highway 385 near Boys Ranch on June 19.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just north of the Canadian River Bridge around 10:20 AM. Based on a report, Sneller was driving a semi-truck on the highway at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he slammed into the back of the trailer of another semi truck that stopped at the red light in the construction zone. The impact pushed that big rig into a pickup truck which also stopped at the red light.
As a result, Sneller suffered grave injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
All six people in the pickup suffered minor injuries. Officers identified them as 30-year-old Noe Martinez, 19-year-old Kevin Rascon, 37-year-old Emilia Martinez, a three-year-old girl, six-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. They are all from Dalhart.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
