Benjamin Vasquez Identified in Fatal Crash on 20 Freeway in Ward County

 
WARD COUNTY, TX (December 21, 2023) – Troopers identified 32-year-old Benjamin Ray Vasquez of Kermit who died in a crash on 20 Freeway on December 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Vasquez. Based on a report, Vasquez was driving westbound on the highway before the crash.
 
At the same time, 38-year-old Ryan John Halasz was driving eastbound on the freeway. At that point, Vasquez failed to drive in a single lane. He drove into a north barrow ditch and when he took faulty evasive action to the left, he collided with Halasz’s vehicle.
 
As a result, Vasquez suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
